IT RUNS AWAY, HIDES

Robotic alarm clock
challenges snoozers

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.: Before you hit the snooze
button a second time on this alarm clock,
you’ll have to hunt it down.

The shag carpet-covered robotic alarm clock
on wheels, called Clocky, rolls away and hides.

The clock is the invention of Gauri Nanda, a
graduate student – and occasional over-
sleeper – who works in the Media Lab at the
Massachusetts Institution of Technology. Nanda
said she wanted Clocky to remind its owners
of a troublesome pet.

Um, yeah. Obviously, I'm back. I've been back for two days, actually. Canada was... amazing. Toronto was gorgeous. Went to Ottowa, Montreal, Quebec, and some other places. East Coast. ...yeah.

O_O You ...commented?

Ottowa was the only one of those cities I hadn't heard of before I went on the trip. Slightly odd as it is the capital of Canada ( I think). Don't think I've ever been to Nova Scotia...

[identity profile] leaf-zelindor.livejournal.com 2005-09-03 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
why wouldn't i? -blinks-
Nova Scotia is beautiful, i love visiting my Aunt just because it gives me an excuse to be out in that area....plus she lives right on the ocean XD.

Um, no reason? *blushyness*

I heard that Canada is really beautiful in the Autumn. Cold though. It must be colder by the ocean.

[identity profile] leaf-zelindor.livejournal.com 2005-09-03 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
XD

oh it is, cold is okay though. I like cold....(i'm not canadian though -sweatdrops-) It was nice, we went in the middle of summer and it was really hot in Halifax but when we got to my Aunts we actually had to start a fire in the fireplace it was so cold from the wind off the ocean....mmm i loved it!

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2005-09-03 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
XD M'not Canadian either. I usually like cold too. Somewhere around 63-75 F, I think.

That sounds nice. Like one of those winter mornings where the air is all crisp and the bed is all warm? It's a blend. :)

[identity profile] leaf-zelindor.livejournal.com 2005-09-03 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
^_^ i just like the cold....guess that's why i moved north to go to school.

Mmm i love that sort of morning...snuggle into my blankets and watch the trees blow around a bit....mmmmmmmm

Where were you before? (Nonemybuz, don't need to tell) Mum was considering sending me to Canada for college.

*sigh* yeah. :) Or in my case, watch sunlight-through-tree patterns on wall as bed does not face window.

[identity profile] leaf-zelindor.livejournal.com 2005-09-04 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
-lol- i live in midstate michigan but i go to school in the upper penninsula. So the U.P. is my home most of the year.
~Leaf~

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2005-09-05 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, so you live up north for the most part anyway. It's a good thing you like the cold, then. I think I'm slightly south of you: NJ.

[identity profile] leaf-zelindor.livejournal.com 2005-09-05 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
yep ^_^
i've been through there once....
~Leaf~

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2005-09-05 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
It's pretty cold here in the winter, but it's really hot in the summer. I like our winters better. Was born in the winter. You?

[identity profile] leaf-zelindor.livejournal.com 2005-09-05 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm a winter baby too ^_^ So was my brother actually. My dad is the only one in my imidiate family that was born in the summer.
~Leaf~

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2005-09-05 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Does your brother like winter too? Mum was Winter baby, but Dad was Autumn, I think.

[identity profile] leaf-zelindor.livejournal.com 2005-09-05 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
i think he does, he went to school where they get even more snow then here, so i'd say he likes it. ^_^
~Leaf~

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2005-09-05 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
How much further north can you get? Maine? Canada? Alaska? At the very least, he doesn't mind it.

Mom was born 2 days after me (er... you know what I mean) but she doesn't like the cold very much.

[identity profile] leaf-zelindor.livejournal.com 2005-09-05 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
He's still in michigan, just a different part of the U.P. up in the large hook off to the west.

Lol my mom perfers the warmth too, she's the same month as me. Maybe it's a mom thing -lol-
~leaf~

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2005-09-05 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I see. I wouldn't mind going north, but I'd rather not live too far south. Why do people want to go to tropical islands anyway? There's so much sun!

Maybe it's a get-older thing. Maybe when we're older (yes, I know you're older than me) we'll like warmth more too.

[identity profile] leaf-zelindor.livejournal.com 2005-09-05 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
LoL maybe so, i should like warmth more, as i'm arthritic already but i still love the cold and i can't sleep if it's more then 55 degrees out (can't sleep well anyway) i have to have a fan on me. it sucks.
I'm just a cold weather type ^_^
~Leaf~

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2005-09-05 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh well, you like what you like.

O_O You're even worse than me! I can sleep up to 77 or possibly more if I'm tired enough. A fan is a pretty good idea, though...

[identity profile] leaf-zelindor.livejournal.com 2005-09-05 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
yep! i'm horridable....(yes i wrote that wrong on puropose) wheeee e-bounces around-

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2005-09-06 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
Hyper-osity! You read Terry Pratchett, right? Ever read Hogfather?

[identity profile] leaf-zelindor.livejournal.com 2005-09-06 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
-blinks- nope, but i've heard of it.
~Leaf~

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2005-09-06 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
*blinks back* Nope you never read Terry Pratchett or Nope you never read Hogfather?

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2005-09-06 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! Well, Terry Pratchett writes the Discworld series which includes the Hogfather. I recommend it/him very much! ^_^

[identity profile] leaf-zelindor.livejournal.com 2005-09-06 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
lol alright, i'll keep that in mind.
~Leaf~

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2005-09-06 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
