Things on my Flist:

1. Sherlock. I can't actually watch it from Taiwan so I've been avoiding your joy. Out of spoiler fear (which is unwarranted; everyone cuts), and out of mad jealousy. It is so on the list of things I need to watch once I get back to the US.

2. Inception. Very... Vivian Vande Velde, thinking specifically of User Unfriendly and Heir Apparent (if that means anything to anyone, which, actually, it probably doesn't?). That means I love it, by the way. Meta-ing it out with Shyue in emails but... yeah. So much tighter than I'd expected. And obviously provoking because, oh em gee, so many views. Flist, you are lovely.

3. Aaaaaaand a meme that I'm too lazy to do. It's here if you want it. I'm going to assume it's good because half of you are doing it.

i cannot comment on your other post, but is it wrong for me to think that it's kind of adorable when you rant? :x

I'm going to assume it's good because half of you are doing it.

The other half of us did it, but thought up our own answers and were disappointed at the utter failure of the given choices to match our brainthoughts. Where are the starfields blossoming in a boundless vista of space??? Also at least 1 in 4 of the resulting statements was way off.

[/joykill] Nice way to get ready for REM state, tho. Ninite <3

It needn't be accurate, only entertaining. Or, if you're especially unambitious, just not offensive. I really haven't actually looked at it yet, though.

...

I just went to take a look. I've done a couple of these verbally before, with the [other] option wide open. It was fun. At one point I'm pretty sure I took a walk through Gallifrey with my skunk companion and creepered on Superman. Also, my future significant other ate all my friends.

We should do a chat some time. I can try the other ones on you. I think you'd like it more.

[identity profile] zenzaan.livejournal.com 2010-08-09 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
d'ooooooooo, I like this open "other" option, yuss. Let's do.

Also: I approve of your future significant other. Marry them / hold a pairbonding ceremony of whatever degree of personal or societal significance immediately yesterday.

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2010-08-10 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Ahahaha just know, the open "other" option games don't even pretend at any kind of objectivity, unlike this quiz which does its best. They're pretty much: how much BS can we spin into this box, ready, get set, go.

XD Everything I have to say next is vaguely spoilery. Catch you online some time, Del. <3

You know, even though I'm Stateside again, I still haven't seen either of these things. And I want to. Particularly Inception. Yum.

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2010-08-09 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually wind up seeing more movies here than Stateside (ahaha I love this term. It's so much like 'planetside').

How goes the jet lag? And access to books in English?

[identity profile] chaos-harmony.livejournal.com 2010-08-11 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Haaa, I'm a fan of it too (for... much the same reason).

I actually got over my jet lag remarkably quickly this time around. And yes, it feels good to be surrounded by my personal (overflowing!) library again. ♥

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 09:54 am (UTC)(link)
I'm jealous. My personal library isn't overflowing and I'd like it to be. Space constraints are a terrible excuse.

I was wondering, how often do you come over to this side of the world? You make it sound pretty frequent.

[identity profile] chaos-harmony.livejournal.com 2010-08-19 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
Aaaaand once more I fail at keeping track of threads I've posted in. *facepalm* But yeah, as a kid, I traveled a lot, since my dad's an academic and tends to go globetrotting for conferences and whatnot, and when I was younger, he'd take me with him. These days, I actively look for chances to get work and/or study experience in Asia, since I'd ideally like to study international arbitration (with a China/East Asia focus) in law school. Or something of that sort. So I did an intensive language immersion program through Princeton last summer, which brought me to Beijing for eight weeks. And this summer, I had the Nanjing internship for about the same amount of time.

What about you? Travel much? :)

Hey Josh (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/crystal_sun396/avas/raindrop_jewel.jpg). What are you doing in my journal?

[identity profile] singinthestorm.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, I really wish I knew.

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2010-08-15 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
It's probably your mun's fault. Weird things like this usually are. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

[identity profile] singinthestorm.livejournal.com 2010-08-15 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'm sorry, am I disturbing you?

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2010-08-15 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
Not gonna deny that this isn't... kind of disconcerting, Josh, but no. You're not. I don't think I'm who you're looking for, though.

When you find him, he will probably flip his shit pardonmylanguage.

[identity profile] singinthestorm.livejournal.com 2010-08-15 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't realize I was supposed to be looking for someone.

[identity profile] ursabee.livejournal.com 2010-08-13 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
Sherlock. I will definitely watch/rewatch it with you at school if you manage to hold out that long (or if you don't), and want company. *stuffs sock in own mouth so as to avoid saying anything more*

Also. Was watching "The Eleventh Hour," and noticed that the "director's cut" version of Doctor Who that has been airing in the U.S. has excluded certain Very Cute Lines. Specifically "your Scottish-- fry something." I felt, yes, probably overly indignant when I realized this was the case, but just think-- I would never have known if not for internet piracy that one little watch party last semester! Go figure.

[identity profile] ursabee.livejournal.com 2010-08-13 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
* "you're Scottish--" ARGHH!!

[identity profile] crystal-sun396.livejournal.com 2010-08-15 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I will hole up in your space and watch your internet and eat your food and we can watch Sherlock. Again, in your case.
